My 1st 'DIY Moto' Holiday Party!

If you’re an Ottawa area motorcycle enthusiast, DIY Moto is a wonderful resource filled with the best people that you should have on your radar.

I’ve learned some stuff about my bike and made some new friends through various social meet-ups (and from just bumming around the garage) like the seasonal ‘Moto Social’. This was my first year attending DIY’s Christmas Party and it was a lot of fun!

Here are some pics from the night:

Shout out to Birling for supplying some awesome raffle prizes - I WON THE TOQUE! <3 <3 <3 This glorious raffle victory is made even more sweet as the toque I’ve been wearing for years, which is in dire need of retirement, comes from Birling’s predecessor, Antique (the OG Bank St. days). An additional shoutout to Sasquatch Soaps for their donated goods (which I ALSO won)! I’ll be smellin’ lovely in time for the holidays, so thank you!

2day at Motorcycle Skool...

I drove a motorcycle for the very first time today. I'm 31, a mother of two and have a pretty wretched physical disability. I'm very, very busy but managed to find the time to cross something off my bucket list (or, to try to).

I believe my instructors are Shane and Dave  from the Ottawa Safety Council and my group is full of awesome people. Some with loads of moto experience and some with zero, like myself. I'm taking the M1 exit test tomorrow - wish me luck!

Um, so yes. That's gotta be some leftover lunch in my teeth but I was too stoked to notice when I snapped this selfie. Yes. I got caught selfy-ing and yes, it was mildly embarrassing. Not as embarrassing as the time I dropped the friggin' motorcycle though... oops!

Here's hoping I don't blow it tomorrow! Today was one for the books. I see why riders love it.

Bucket List - 2017

Admittedly, I don't have *much* of a bucket list. There are a few things that have been on my mind for a while now - and with some effort I might be able to pull 'em off. Some, though, involve networking and a little bit of luck.   What's on your bucket list?

Here's mine:

  1. Get my full M license
  2. Bake a delicious cake
  3. Ride in a Porsche (going very fast)
  4. Have my voice used in a cartoon or game

...and that's it! For now...
