AHS: S7 Based on 2016 US Election

Co-creator Ryan Murphy reveals the upcoming season 7 of American Horror Story will be based on the 2016 US Presidential Election.

While season 7 is yet to be titled, Murphy was very quick to spill the beans surrounding it's plot. Murphy said,

The season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.
— Ryan Murphy

Fresh off the election (well, sorta) how does he plan to execute an entire season based on the event many are still coming to terms with? Just because he says it’s “based on” the election it doesn’t mean it’ll be a carbon copy of actual events… they’ll have to turn up the sex, horror and gore a little bit, right?

Series regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are rarin’ to go with season 7 but that’s all we know concerning the cast so far. Once adopted into the American Horror Story family, actors typically stick around so it’s highly possible we’ll see people like Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett and more return.

Could season 7 be another split-themed, cross over type seaon? It’s possible. Last year Murphy hinted they “will be going back to some Freak Show characters” exploring “deeper histories and mythologies”. In November, the official AHS twitter account posted this teaser:

Ashton Kutcher Blows Kisses in Court

Ashton Kutcher was in court on Wednesday (Feb. 15th) to testify at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing. The subject of the hearing was “Ending Modern Slavery: Building on Success.”

Kutcher is the co-founder of Thorn, a tech company that fights the sexual exploitation of children.

We partner across the tech industry, government and NGOs and leverage technology to combat predatory behavior, rescue victims, and protect vulnerable children.
— WeAreThorn.org

While in court, Kutcher spoke about his organization’s capabilities and let everyone know they give away tech tools that are considered key in disabling slavery.

Senator John McCain was very happy to hear about Thorn and their team’s plan to aid in the quest to end modern slavery and exploitation. The whole thing was very professional… except for this one jab from McCain to Kutcher…

I think Ashton handled it well, don't you?

Mariah Carey Flaunts Valentine's Date

Mariah Carey’s ex, Nick Cannon, has previously expressed his doubt in the authenticity of her newish relationship with long time dancer Brian Tanaka. The singer posted a few new photos of her wearing a Hershey Kisses studded bikini top in a tub full of candy, solo alongside this pic featuring Tanaka. We see big smiles, champagne, muscles and cleavage – it’s can’t all be fake, can it (Nick)?

Happy Valentine's Day!! 😘 #happyvalentinesday #happy #moments #bubbles 💖🥂🍾🥂🍾💖

A post shared by Mariah Carey (@mariahcarey) on

During a radio interview with Howard Stern, Cannon didn’t hold back when it came to his skepticism (*cynicism?) surrounding his ex wife’s new relationship with 33 year old Tanaka.

First of all, I think the whole reality show is fake. I’m a producer, so I know how [it works]… I don’t buy non of that s**t.
— Nick Cannon, February 8th

Carey, 46, split from Aussie billionaire James Packer in October 2016 before hooking up with Tanaka, a move Cannon thinks is explicitly made for TV. Despite his harsh feelings towards the new romance, Cannon adds,

I love Mariah. I’ll never stop loving her. She gave me two, amazing beautiful gifts. We talk every day.

So what do you think? Is this relationship real or made-for-TV?

New Celebrity Couples Celebrating Valentine's Day 2017

Love is in the air with these new celebrity couples!

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye, FYI).

Are they or aren’t they? After early reports surfaced indicating the two might be on the outs following Tesfaye’s cryptic tweet (below) and a sudden evaporation from the public eye.

The two are still on and have been together since early January. They were most recently spotted getting close at Rihanna’s GRAMMYs after party at 1Oak where Justin Bieber made an appearance… a very brief one.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari.

Another couple “outed” by the GRAMMYs… Okay, so we knew Britney was dating this dancer/model for a couple months now. Spears and Asghari met on set while shooting the “Slumber Party” video back in November of 2016.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Can we even consider these two a “new couple”? The whispers started long before the two officially confirmed their relationship in November of 2016. The two have done their absolute best to keep out of the public eye but it’s a little bit hard considering he’s, y’know, ROYALTY and all.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.

Our favorite DNCE/Game of Thrones mash-up yet! Another couple who started heating things up last November. It’s unclear whether or not they met at a Kings of Leon concert but we do know their mutual friends are responsible for this hook up. They’ve been dating for a few months and appear to still be on. If we’ve learned anything from GoT recently, Joe doesn’t wanna mess with Sansa Stark.

Mariah Carey and Brian Tanaka.

In a weird twist of events (all captured on her TV show, naturally) Mariah Carey called it quits with billionaire fiance James Packer and jumped right into the toned arms of her long time dancer, Brian Tanaka.

A post shared by Mariah Carey (@mariahcarey) on

It was only two months following the highly publicized split that the two made their love official. They have been together since October 2016 and I’m still not convinced this isn’t a ratings ploy.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Nina Agdal (*at the time this blog was posted, Leo was still on this particular supermodel/subject to change at any moment).

Last but certainly not least is our favorite playboy (since Clooney was removed from the running, duh) and love of supermodels, Leo. Surprisingly, he appears to be in a relationship with Nina Agdal. More surprisingly, DiCaprio and Agdal are the least “new couple” on this list. The two were spotted making out back in July of 2016 (following his brief fling with Rihanna) and have become serious over the past two months, sources say.

Honourable Mentions:

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Lady Gaga and Christian Carino

Lin-Manuel Miranda will perform a duet with Moana's Auli'i Cravalho. The song is Miranda's "How Far I'll Go" from the Disney animated movie.
