Oscars Announce More Presenters, Plus Star Studded Women in Film Event
Emma Stone, Meryl Streep and Brie Larson got together for an Oscars pre-party celebrating Women in Film.
No, I don’t mean they got together to literally celebrate themselves… Women in Film is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equal opportunities for women in media.
“I want to ask you all in this room today to connect with others. Let’s share our stories, talk about where we came from, let’s get excited about where we are right now because there is only room to grow… So let’s talk… let’s talk about what’s really going on, what worries us, what scares us, what we’re excited about, what it feels like to be a mother, what it feels like to be a daughter, what it feels like to be a son or a father in this period of time, and let’s incubate all of this and make something amazing because we will be here later, and we’ll talk about how this was the moment when we went, ‘I got it, I know how to make the world a better place’.”
And the Oscar goes to…
The final round of presenters has been announced adding Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston, Meryl Streep and more to the list of previously announced A-listers including Leonardo DiCaprio and Brie Larson.
We will also see Jason Bateman, Ryan Gosling, Salma Hayek, Taraji P. Henson, Warren Beatty, Michael J. Fox, Seth Rogan, Vince Vaughn, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Halie Steinfeld, Emma Stone and more gracing the stage.
The 89th Academy Awards are hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and will air Sunday, February 26th.
Here are your 2017 Oscar Performers
Here are the 89th Academy Awards performers:
Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Auli'i Cravalho and Sting. Each artist will be performing a song from the Best Original Song category.
Sting will perform "The Empty Chair" from Jim: The James Foley Story, an HBO documentay about an American journalist killed by ISIS in 2014. The song is co-written by J. Ralph. You can have a listen by CLICKING HERE.
Lin-Manuel Miranda will perform a duet with Moana's Auli'i Cravalho. The song is Miranda's "How Far I'll Go" from the Disney animated movie. If he wins the Oscar, he'll be lifted up to EGOT status; a rare achievement when an artist wins an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. You can hear the song by CLICKING HERE.
John Legend will give us a double performance, both from La La Land. "City of Stars" and "Audition (The Fools Who Dream)" were originally performed by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, but will be performed on Oscar night by Legend who had a smaller role in the film playing a jazz musician. You can hear the originals by CLICKING HERE, and HERE.
And finally, Justin Timberlake will perform "Can't Stop the Feeling" from the DreamWorks animated movie Trolls. Timberlake stars in the picture and served as an executive producer for the film's music. You can hear his number one hit song by CLICKING HERE.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these world-class artists to the Oscars. These performances will not only celebrate the five extraordinary nominated original songs, but also the integral part music plays in movies.”
