Arthritis is a Bitch
Rheumatoid Arthritis is killing me. It’s been ages since I’ve had a “flare up” ; all of my joints are involved (except spine), including my voice box and eyes (fun fact: tiny joints control your voice and eyes, like a pain filled Furby).
I will be okay. It will pass. All I ask is for understanding in that I am exhausted (takes a lot of energy to fight the pain which is constant and unrelenting; comparable IN MY EXPERIENCE to being forced to walk on an ankle you freshly rolled - except it’s not just in the ankles, it’s everywhere).
Understanding in that I “sound rough” - I sound rough because the joints that control my vocal chords are struggling. Not a big deal but a NOTICEABLE affliction to be grappling with in my industry. Hence why you SHOULD tell your superior, *I guess*?
Understanding in that everything I do mentally and physically during this time is a real challenge. A mountain to climb. There are barriers everywhere.
The only thing most can offer is understanding - so take this post for what it’s worth. No responses, suggestions or comments necessary. Just trying to share my perspective.
